Atlas is all about owning things and renting them out to others, be it real estate, spaceships,
rights of passage, or beings. They own entire moons in some systems, mining rights on various asteroid fields, and a fleet of ships (including cargo and exploration vehicles). They regularly experiment with the Quartermain T-Gate in hopes of finding and exploiting new worlds.
Deus Ex Machina
Previously known as Acme Inc. this is one of the few corporations that began as
an Earth corporation and migrated to the stars. It now produces a whirlwind of products, from
household appliances to sophisticated exoskeletons, all using a sophisticated computer
technology known as 'Zeus'. They compete with a number of companies, in a variety of fields, and have been known for having an aggressive marketing team wherever they establish
their product. They have no manufacturing facilities on Quartermain, but instead ship goods from their facility on Luna (Earth's Moon). They are despised by their competitors, and
their technology is known for it's ability to resist attempts at reprogramming (though it is said there are some people who have beaten it with great effort, resources and time).
They are known for having some of the most loyal employees possible, which has lead to speculation that they may be somehow mind controlled in some way, as even after leaving the company they refuse to divulge their secrets. There have been no successful court cases against them on Quartermain, though there have been quite a few attempts over the past few years.
Producer of entertainment devices, entertainment content and a wide range of pharmacy products. They are also believed to be secretly involved in biochemical research, including illegal bio-warfare products, clones-on-demand, and paragenetics.
Infernal Machines Corp.
Infernal makes a wide range of goods, based around a unique rechargeable power cell technology, the secrets of which they guard closely (the cell is shielded to prevent examination by probes, and self destructs if the integrity seal is broken for any reason).
They have no manufacturing facilities on Quartermain, but their goods are available
from a variety of retail shops in the Agora. They are not the most well-liked of
corporations, since they produce a number of offensive and defensive weapons for the
individual and they have been accused on other worlds of being involved in illegal arms
trade and occasionally unethical business practices to acquire government and industry
contracts. Despite this they produce quality products at a fair price, and have only had a few minor fines charged against them in court for their business practices.
Long Life Fashions
A producer of durable clothing using a wide range of synthetics, they have cornered
the market on quartermain for providing uniforms and lightweigt protective bodywear.
Generally perceived as a non-exploitive corporation, and not known for any major
lawsuits, illegal trade activities or predatory actions. They maintain a small factory
in the industrial levels below the surface of Quatermain and employ only a small workforce
(about 50 sentients) locally. They regularly ship goods to other worlds and have had no
major trade problems or labor relation problems.
A corporation founded by an Ultra Intelligent Delta before the Delta War which has since moved its main operations
to Quartermain, October Industries has a high number of Delta employees and specializes in genetics research and
development. It is believed to be working on developing some highly specialized delta alien hybrids for various employment needs, but is also involved in drug and medical research.
A Intergalactic Investment, Development and Bonding Corporation.
Producer of a variety of consumer devices, with the most well known being their Whistler Defense Pistols.
A Drazili originating Corporation, specializing in Shipping Goods and Passengers over long distances. Their reputation for ruthlessness is well known, as is their ability to follow any contract they sign to the letter.
