The above is a picture of me with my friend, Daneen who co-authored a few posts with me during the third war, though we didn't meet face to face until Syndicon East '97.
Since I wasn't part of Forever Knight fandom, I hadn't heard about their fanfic wars, but when I heard the Highlander fans were taking sides, I knew I had to be on Methos'. Then I asked what I had signed up for. <g> In spite of being in the middle of tax season, I had a lot of fun. My attempts to meet Amanda failed since I didn't feel comfortable writing her and none of the AFWs wanted to co-author anything with me.

After the first war, I started work on a fanfic with both Methos and Amanda in it. That helped to get me prepared to join the Amanda faction during the second war, also known as the cruise. Unfortunately, I was not able to join the Methos faction as well, due to the fact that they were full by the time I found out the cruise was going on.

When the third war was announced, I managed to sign up for both factions. Then, the AFW faction leader had to bow out, leaving me as faction administrator. Though I had effectively tripled my workload by being cross-faction as well as a faction leader in all but name, I had proportionally more fun. Unfortunately, at the end of the war, someone wrote a post that offended a large number of people and it seems likely that there will never be another Highlander war.
