The Tally : Well I decided that for my final journal entry I'd do, among other things, a tally of my media intake for the year. From my notes (and journal entries) I came up with totals:
I definitely need to spend more time with my writing and other creative projects - just too much of the above is way too mundane for me. So, that is going to be my New Years Resolution - To Be LESS MUNDANE. Or, to put it simply, to spend more time being ME, instead of what other people want me to be. And to spend more time having FUN. I also need to expand the amount of exercise time I'm getting (Yoga, Walking etc.) I also want to reduce my TV time and increase the number of books I read in a year, especially the non-fiction category material. And, of course, to get more sleep!
I also need to stop obsessing on things and tracking my time usage so much... of course that means there won't be a tally for 2004.
Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings.....

35 Books Read In Full. Of These 5 were Non-Fiction and 30 Fiction.
And to counter this we have :
3 Books started and abandoned as Unreadable/Unintertesting
6 Roleplaying Related Books Read (Not in the big tally)
20 Magazines Read (Wired, Fortean Times & Tin House)
185 (aprox.) Newspapers Read
8 Radio Plays on CD Disk Listened To
3 Movies Watched In Theatres
18 Movies Watched on DVD
4 DVDs of Other Content
160 (approx.) Hours of TV Fiction, Music & Entertainment Shows
150 (approx.) Hours of TV News/Information Shows
250 (Aprox.) Hours of Radio News/Information
Thus we have somewhere around 1100 Hours of Media Input this year.
30 (aprox.) Yoga Classes (1 hr 15 min each) = 37.5 Hours
This doesn't cover all the stuff I can't put an hour number on, or have no real records with, such as the Basement Project of Doom, Condo Assoc. Meetings, Dealing With
Repairmen, Time Spent on Hold while on the Phone, Time Spent in Phone Conversations & Discussions, Research Time for Writing, Various Errands, Networking Meetings, Family Gatherings & Obligations, Time Spent Helping Kiralee With Her Dance Projects, etc. Of course the numbers in many categories are a bit low, as I took a number of months off at the start of the year to deal with my stress problems. I suspect the Basement is probably another 250+ hours of my time, but I just don't have any time records regarding it.
20 (aprox.) Yoga Sessions At Home (30 min each) = 10 Hours
250 (aprox.) Hours Spent walking various places
175 (aprox.) Hours Spent Writing
60 (aprox.) Hours Spent In RPG Preparation
2100 (aprox.) Hours Spent Sleeping***
20 (aprox.) Hours Spent In Meditation
60 (aprox.) Hours Spent In Esoteric/Religious Pursuits
120 (aprox.) Hours Doing Laundry
250 (aprox.) Hours Spent Cooking Meals
150 (aprox.) Hours Spent Doing House Shopping
170 (aprox.) Hours Spent Playing Computer Games
60 (aprox.) Hours Spent Doing Computer Maintenance
125 (approx.) Hours Spent Roleplaying (As Player or GM)
200 (aprox.) Hours Spent Eating Meals
80 (aprox.) Hours Spent In Personal Hygene Activities
13 (aprox) Hours Spent Making Coffee
300 (aprox.) Hours Spent Housecleaning
12 (aprox.) Hours Spent Commuting On Bus/Train/Subway
360 (aprox.) Hours Spent On The Internet (Doing What Varies)
360 (aprox.) Hours Spent Dealing With Email (Seperate from Net Time)
72 (aprox.) Hours Spent At Conventions
*** Would have been more but I've had a LOT of Insomnia This Year.
